Airtel and HDFC Life have joined hands to provide monthly life insurance cover to the eligible subscribers of Airtel while in the offering Airtel will serve as the facilitator, HDFC Life will engage in providing the coverage.
And to avail, the offer, here are listed the ways to opt for the offer along with the eligibility criteria.

For the age, only individuals within the age bracket of 18-54 years need to apply and give in their declaration that they are in good health.
Features
As part of the offer, individuals will be extended term insurance with a sum assured value of Rs. 4 lakh and will have no maturity value.
Also for availing the insurance scheme, the Airtel customer has to make a recharge as per specification and just cannot recharge his phone with any of the STV plans. And this is in the case is for Rs. 249 which has a validity for 28 days and offers Unlimited Calling + 2GB data per day + 100 SMS per day.
This is a group insurance scheme so the subscriber of the scheme will be getting a Certificate of Insurance issued by the Insurer on the mobile. Being a group policy, its coverage shall be extended only within India.
It is to be noted even when the customer has more than one Airtel connection, the maximum coverage will remain limited to Rs. 4 lakh.

1. Recharge your phone with the STV
2. Use the Airtel Thanks app
3. By visiting any of the dealer of Airtel and making the recharge.
Should you apply for the scheme?
So, whether or not it makes sense to make the recharge and get the insurance coverage is to be suggested here and it is, in fact, a good call as the premium is not be paid directly by the scheme applicant and is rather adjusted from the cost of STV. Plus still a huge population in India is without life coverage so the move will provide a lot many of such individuals with an easy and paperless way to avail life insurance plus it may supplement the coverage of those who already are covered as part of some or the other plan.
