SBI savings account holders can now open a fixed deposit (FD) online by using the seamless SBI net banking facility. Just with a stable internet connection, one can open an SBI Fixed Deposit account anytime anywhere. SBI online FD is quite beneficial because the term deposit is very simple to pay which can be done through SBI net banking service.
The best part is you do not need to visit your nearest SBI branch to renew and close the deposit, you can do it instantly once you open an FD online. So, just follow the below-given steps and open an SBI FD account online from the comfort of your home or office.

Step 1: Log in to your SBI net banking account by using the login credentials
Step 2: Now under the fixed deposit section, click on 'e-TDR/e-STDR (FD)' and then click on 'Proceed'
Step 3: Now choose the type of FD you want to open from TDR (term deposit) and STDR (Special Term Deposit) and then click on 'Proceed'
Step 4: In case you carry multiple bank accounts, choose the account from which you want to debit the amount
Step 5: Now select the FD principal value and fill the same in the 'Amount' section

Step 6: In case you are a Senior Citizen above the age of 60, then tick on the 'Senior Citizens' tab
Step 7: Now select the tenure of deposit or maturity date and then opt maturity instruction for your term deposit account.
Step 8: Accept the 'Terms & Conditions' and then click on 'Submit'
Step 9: Now the details of your FD will appear on the screen, confirm the same and click on 'OK'
Step 10: Now recognize and note the transaction number for future reference, you are done.
