It is one of the most effective and accessible alternative dispute redressal mechanisms. The forum can be used for an easy redressal of cases pending in the court of the law amicably or with easy settlement.
Delhi Lok Adalat Tokens: How To Obtain One For Delhi Traffic Challan Resolution?
To settle pending traffic challans, it is important for people to own or obtain a token for Delhi Lok Adalat. Here's a step-by-step guide to raise a Delhi Lok Adalat token for the resolution of Delhi traffic challans.
-Go to the official website of Delhi Traffic Police, ie at https://traffic.delhipolice.gov.in/
-Click on 'Delhi State Legal Services Authority' option. You will be redirected to the token registration page.
-Enter all you required details in the token registration form page including your name, contact number, vehicle regisration, and other required details.
-Thorougly recheck all the information mentioned in the form and submit it.
-You will receive a confirmation message alongwith a link.
-Click on that link, you will be redirected to another page where you can download the Lok Adalat Token.
Delhi Lok Adalat Session On Traffic Challan Settlement: Where To Attend?
People can attend any of the Delhi Lok Adalat court session, which will be organised across court complexes. These special sessions for traffic challan settlement can be attended in Dwarka, Karkardooma, Patiala House, Rohini, Rose Avenue, Saket and Tis Hazari.
Delhi Lok Adala For Challan Settlement: Mandatory Documents To Carry
People are required to carry their identity proof, alongwith driving license and vehicle's registration certificate. Apart from these documents it is mandatory for them to cary a print out of the notices and challans. There will be no facility of printout of challans in any court.
For those people who don't have the hard copy of their traffic challans or notices, they can download their notices from the official website of Delhi Traffic Police.
People can download their traffic challans and notices from the official link which has been activated from Monday, May 5 at 10 am. According to Delhi Traffic Police's official statement, maximum of 60,000 per challans can be downloaded per day until the limit of total downloaded traffic challans exceed 1,80,000.
As per the Delhi Traffic Police's statement, a total of 1,80,000 pending traffic challans and notices will be settled on 10 May on all courts during Delhi Lok Adalat.
Delhi Lok Adalat: Is There A Limit For Traffic Challans Per Vehicle?
Yes, people can bring a certain number of challans for settlement for a single vehicle. As per Delhi Traffic Police's notice, only 7 notices and challans, ie 5 challans and 2 notices, per private vehicle, and two notices (or challans) per commercial vehicle can be settled during the Lok Adalat session.
