Do you need to transfer money to a friend's account? You can easily accomplish this by utilising HDFC Bank's NetBanking or Mobile Banking app. The only thing you need to do is add your friend as a beneficiary to your account. You can transfer funds both within HDFC Bank and to other banks' accounts. If you want to transfer funds from your HDFC bank account to a friend or relative via net banking, you must add that person to your account as a beneficiary. Once you've added a beneficiary, you'll be able to easily transfer funds to someone who has an account at the same or a different bank. Let's learn how to add a beneficiary in an HDFC bank account.
How to add a beneficiary?
If you need to transfer money to another account, you must add the account as a beneficiary. Keep the beneficiary's account information on hand. These include the bank account number, IFSC code, branch information, beneficiary's name as it appears on the bank account, and phone number.
- Enter your customer ID and password to access your HDFC NetBanking account or Mobile Bank application.
- Log in to the mobile banking app with your customer ID and password or Quick Access Pin.
- In NetBanking, select "Transaction Type" from the Funds Transfer section.
- To add a beneficiary, select the 'Add Beneficiary' option.
- Enter the beneficiary's information, fill out the form with the beneficiary's bank and contact information, and then click submit.
- Following submission, an OTP is sent to your registered mobile number and email address.
- To add a beneficiary to your account, enter the received OTP to confirm the addition request with HDFC Bank. When the bank approves your request, the beneficiary is added.
- The bank takes half an hour to approve a request after it is submitted. You can make a transaction and send funds to the beneficiary after an hour.

How to transfer or send money without adding a beneficiary?
To make any transfer, including IMPS and NEFT, HDFC Bank requires you to add a beneficiary's account. Making an IMPS transfer using MMID is the only other way to transfer funds to an account without adding it as a beneficiary. This MMID, or Mobile Money Identification Number, is a seven-digit number that is unique. The first four digits are the unique identification number of the bank that provides IMPS. You can make an IMPS transfer using the beneficiary's MMID and contact information.
