After the recent hike in Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinder prices in the country, the government has introduced new measures to ensure fair distribution and prevent hoarding. In view of supply concerns amid the ongoing Middle East crisis, authorities have increased the minimum LPG cylinder booking gap from 21 days to 25 days.
Along with the new rule, customers should also know how to easily book LPG cylinders through phone calls, SMS, WhatsApp, mobile apps, websites and IVRS services offered by the oil companies.

Gas Cylinder Booking Rules
Authorities have introduced several guidelines to regulate LPG distribution and improve delivery systems.
1. Mandatory 25-Day Gap Between Bookings
Customers must now maintain a minimum gap of 25 days between two LPG cylinder bookings. Oil companies have updated their software systems, which will automatically prevent bookings made before the completion of this period.
2. Delivery Authentication Code (DAC)
Cylinder delivery will only be considered complete after customers share the Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) received on their registered mobile number with the delivery person.
3. Mandatory e-KYC Verification
Consumers who have not yet completed their e-KYC verification with their LPG distributor are advised to do so immediately. Without e-KYC, LPG bookings and subsidy benefits may be suspended.
