How To Download Aadhaar Card Online From UIDAI: Official Procedure

The Aadhaar card is an important document for the Indian citizens. For any official work, like banking or investment, job, address, it is required to complete the procedure. Additionally, an Indian citizen also needs the document to avail of any government welfare benefit. The Aadhaar card can be used as the identity card for an Indian citizen. Aadhaar is a 12-digit unique identification number (UIN) issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). As an Indian citizen, you can enroll for the Aadhaar card by visiting the official Aadhaar centers or post offices. Once the card is issued, you can download the Aadhaar card online from UIDAI's official website.

To download the card you must have the Aadhaar card enrolment ID, virtual ID, or Aadhaar number provided by UIDAI. You should follow the below-mentioned easy steps to download the Aadhaar card.

Here, you need to choose the 'Login' option and type the 12-digit Aadhaar Number you were given and the said captcha. After that, you will be receiving a security code or a one-time password (OTP) on your registered mobile number. So, you must have the registered mobile number with you to complete the process. Type the OTP where it is asked to, and then click on the 'Verify And Download' option.

If you verify the process successfully, you will receive a PDF copy of your Aadhaar card in the Downloads folder of your device. However, it will be a password-protected PDF. The password will be a combination of the first 4 letters of your name (as in Aadhaar) in capital letters and your birth year in YYYY format. So, it will be an 8-character password. Then, after entering the password, you can open the Aadhaar card digitally. If you need it for official purposes if you print out a hard copy of the document from the PDF copy.
