PhonePe is a digital payment platform that is a major driver of UPI transactions in India. Users can use PhonePe to send and receive money, recharge mobile phones, DTH, data cards, make utility payments, and buy gold. Did you know that making utility payments on the PhonePe app only takes a few seconds? Phonepe allows you to set up recurring autopay payments. Autopay is a process that allows you to pay your bills and recurring payments automatically and without any extra effort. Here is how you can set up autopay in PhonePe.
How to set up autopay?
- Open PhonePe and select Manage Autopay'
- To view all billers previously transacted on, select Add Autotpay.
- Select the biller for which the customer wishes to enable Autopay by linking their debit or credit card.
- Customers can also specify a threshold for enabling Autopay for a specific biller.
- On the due date, payments will be deducted automatically from the linked credit / debit card.
- When the transaction is completed successfully, the customer will receive a confirmation email.
- Customers will also receive a reminder about the due date before the Autopay feature initiates payment, and they will have the option to turn it off for a cycle.
- Currently, this feature is available for all Visa, Mastercard, and Diners Club credit cards, as well as ICICI debit cards.
How to set up AutoPay for an IPO?
You can use PhonePe to set up AutoPay for an IPO as follows:
- Go to the broker's platform.
- When bidding on shares, choose UPI as your preferred payment method.
- Proceed by entering the UPI ID (VPA) associated with the bank account you want to use to make this payment.
- A payment request will be sent to your PhonePe app. In the pop-up, confirm the payment request details and tap Accept.
- Continue in the pop-up that displays the message "X' will be blocked in your account'.
- Enter your UPI PIN here.
If the authorization is approved, your bank will place a hold on the funds in your account for this payment. The blocked amount may not appear as a debit entry on your bank statement until the amount is deducted from your account.
How to check PhonePe AutoPay details?
To check your PhonePe AutoPay details, go to:
- On the PhonePe app's home screen, tap your profile picture.
- Under Payments Settings, select AutoPay Settings.
- When you select the appropriate AutoPay, the details will be displayed.
What should I do if the AutoPay set up fails?
If your AutoPay setup fails for any reason, it could be due to a variety of factors. After some time, you can try creating a new one using the relevant app or website. To successfully complete the AutoPay setup, you must authorise the request again on PhonePe.
- Before attempting again, please confirm that your bank supports auto payments via UPI and eNACH on your bank account.
- If you are still having trouble setting up an AutoPay, please open a ticket for the relevant AutoPay request. Tap your profile picture on the PhonePe app's home screen to do so.
- Select AutoPay Settings.
- Choose the appropriate AutoPay request.
- Select Contact Customer Service.
