Pensioners have to submit the life certificate every year in november for receiving pension. The time limit to submit this certificate is two months and only pensioner above 80 years can submit this life certificate or jeevan praman patra. Earlier, people have to physically appear for submitting their life certificate to a bank, treasury, or post office.
Now, the Department of Pension and Pensioners' Welfare published circular On September 20, 2021,stating various methods to submit the annual life certificate online as well offline. Annual life certificate is submitted offline and online. Here are some ways to sumit the jeevan praman patra online.
Online submission
1) Using jeevan praman portal
- Pensioners can use the Jeevan Pramaan Portal (https://jeevanpramaan.gov.in/) to submit their life certificates online.
- Download Jeevan Praman App from the portal
- Submit fingerprints via a UIDAI-mandated equipment. To connect a fingerprint reader to a smartphone, you can use an OTG cable.
- Register with all details related to Aadhaar number, mobile number, and email address etc.
2) India Post Payments Bank (IPPB)
The Department of Posts and India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) with Meity have successfully launched the life certificate scheme (IPPB) in november 2020 " the doorstep service" in which you can submit life certificate by postman. To access this feature pensioner has to download "Postinfo APP" from the Google Play store. Using the Post Info app or website, the Department of Posts has also made it possible to schedule doorstep requests to postman/Grameen Dak Sevak to come to their home.
3) life certificate through doorstep banking
An alliance made by 12 public sector banks has offered Doorstep Banking to its customers. The service will be delivered to the pensioner's door by a DSB representative.A service reservation can be made through mobile app, website, or toll-free number.

4) life certificate through face authentication
UIDAI Aadhaar-based Face Authentication technology method can be used to submit life certificate. A snapshot of the pensioner can be taken and uploaded online to the Jeevan Pramaan mobile application and a Digital Life Certificate can be produced using any Android-based smartphone.
5) life certificate signed by designated official
A pensioner can submit a life certificate form signed by a designated authority in such case physical presence is not required. A retiree who submits a life certificate in the necessary format and with the required signatures is excused from attending in person, according to paragraph 14.3 of the CPAO-issued Scheme Booklet.
