The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) released new guidelines last year to make it easier for PF members to change their date of birth. These instructions were given for PF members to verify that their UAN is KYC compliant in the aftermath of the COVID-19 epidemic, in an effort to expand the scope of online services. However, if the difference between the two dates is less than three years, the date of birth registered in Aadhaar will henceforth be considered as a valid proof of date of birth for the purpose of correction. EPFO validates the date of birth of subscribers online with the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) to ensure that validation time for change requests is shortened by filing the request to alter the date of birth online. EPFO has recently published a video Tweet for the convenience of PF members who wish to update their date of birth online.

Documents required to change date of birth in EPF account
If the difference in date of birth is less than 3 years, PF holders can submit Aadhaar/e-Aadhaar on the Unified Member Portal; if the difference is higher than 3 years, PF subscribers can submit Aadhaar/e-Aadhaar on the Unified Member Portal along with any of the supporting documentation as follows:
- School/education-related certificate
- Birth certificate issued by Registrar of Births and Deaths
- Passport
- Certificate based on service records of Central/State Government organisations
- Any reliable documents issued by the Government department like Driving License, ESIC card, etc.
- Medical certificate issued by Civil surgeon after examining the member.
