The advancement of technology has helped people to get solutions to their problems at the earliest rather than waiting for a long time as the case was a few years back. The Employees Provident Fund or EPF is the new government organization to take the help of WhatsApp and roll out helpline services for its members.

Recently, the Ministry of Labour and Employment has announced the launch of social media platforms - Twitter, Facebook, a dedicated 24X7 call centre, a web-based EPFiGMS portal, CPGRAMS for addressing the grievance of its members.

The EPF members will first have to know the location of their branch office before raising a complaint related to EPF account through WhatsApp. Different branch offices of EPF will be allotted with different WhatsApp Helpline.

Check the procedure to know your regional EPF office.

Step 1: First visit the official web portal of EPF.

Step 2: Select 'For Employers' option under the 'Services' tab.

Step 3: Now a new web page will open. Proceed further and select 'Establishment Search' under the 'Services' tab.

Step 4: The screen will take you to a new web portal wherein details can be searched by using the establishment code number or by using part of the establishment's name.

Step 5: Enter the details and captcha code in the given place and click on the 'Search' option.

Note: Here 'Establishment' refers to the organization or firm wherein the employee is working. If in case, the member does not have an establishment code of the firm, then one can search using the name as well.

If in case, more than one results throw up, then the EPF member can check the address mentioned in the EPF statement along with the address on the screen to get the correct organization by clicking on 'View Details'.

Here the 'View Details' option will show the details of the establishment including the EPFO office name, establishment code, establishment status (exemption status), EPFO office address and so on.

Once you get the address, it will help you to locate the WhatsApp number of the EPFO branch office from the list to solve your issue. Currently, the facility of using WhatsApp to solve EPFO related problems is available only for 138 regional offices.

By using WhatsApp facility, the EPF members will get a revert in the form of reply on their WhatsApp number.
