Employees' Provident Fund (EPF), also known as PF (Provident Fund), is a savings cum retirement scheme mandatory for employees of an eligible organization. The employees can claim the corpus of this fund after retirement. PF account holders can withdraw the complete sum accumulated in their EPF once they retire. Partial withdrawal from EPF accounts is permitted in the case of an emergency such as a medical emergency, marriage, house purchase or construction, or higher education.
