Paytm is a safe and secure digital payment gateway that has been approved by the RBI. Know Your Customer (KYC) is another RBI-mandated guideline for cashless payment apps. KYC verified customers' identities in order to eliminate the risk of fraudsters and fake identities. It is also capable of tracking down defaulters. In order to gain access to the Paytm wallet, users must first complete KYC. Here is how to complete Paytm KYC.
Features
- You can pay merchants by using their mobile number, scanning an OR code, or using Paytm's e-commerce platform.
- Payments can be sent and received 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
- You can top up your Paytm wallet with a credit card, debit card, net banking, or UPI ID.
- You can easily do other transactions with the Paytm app, such as mobile recharge, DTH recharge, and bill payment for utilities such as electricity and water.
- SIP investments can be made through Paytm.
- You can purchase movie tickets in addition to booking train and flight tickets.
- It also provides an e-commerce platform where you can purchase various products based on your needs.
How to complete minimum KYC?
- Open Paytm App and go to profile on the top left corner of the home screen
- Scroll down and click profile settings that contain your profile.
- Click on Profile having your name, email, and wallet status,
- If Paytm Wallet is 'Inactive', Tap on 'Activate Now'
- Now, click on 'Complete your minimum KYC to activate wallet'
- Once minimum KYC is complete, Paytm Wallet becomes active but with lesser monthly limits and benefits.
- You can easily upgrade your account by completing the full KYC and avail more benefits
Video KYC
- Open Paytm App and go to profile on the top left corner of the home screen
- Scroll down and click profile settings that contain your profile.
- Click on Profile having your name, email, and wallet status,
- Click on Update KYC
- Now, click on upgrade your account now
- Click on Video KYC
- Enter 12 digit Aadhaar number and proceed
- Enter the OTP
- After verification, fill out all the required details
- Before starting a video verification, be ready with your PAN and Aadhaar card
- Now, proceed and video verification will begin where the Paytm executive would ask some details.
- After video verification, your status is updated and fully KYC-verified.
KYC at Nearby KYC Point
By clicking on http://m.p-y.tm/kyc on your smartphone or visiting this link in your browser, you can find nearby KYC points. You can also select the 'Nearby' icon from the blue strip at the top of the Paytm App Home page. For verification, you must bring your Aadhaar card and PAN*. You must biometrically verify your Aadhaar card.
KYC at your Doorstep
- Open Paytm App and go to profile on the top left corner of the home screen
- Scroll down and click profile settings that contain your profile.
- Click on Profile having your name, email, and wallet status,
- Click on Update KYC
- Now, click on upgrade your account now
- Select KYC at your doorstep
- Enter all the required details
- Book a slot and an agent would visit at preferred address for verification.
