This week, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the fifteenth instalment of PM-Kisan Yojana. In the 15th instalment, the government announced that 8 crore farmers will receive an amount of more than Rs 18,000 crore. This will take total disbursement of Rs 2.80 lakh crore to the beneficiaries since inception of the scheme. This financial assistance will support farmers in meeting their agricultural and other incidental needs.
As of now, more than 11 crore farmers have received amount up to Rs 2.61 lakh crore across the nation through this scheme.

The scheme as per the name - Pradhan Mantri (PM) Kisan Samman Nidhi is specifically designed and initiated for the struggling Indian farmers and peasants. The PM Kisan Yojna as commonly known, came into effect since December 2018 and the prime minister released the first instalment in February 2019. According to the initiative, almost Rs. 6000/- per year, paid in three instalments would be credited in the farmer's bank account directly. Unlike the years earlier, the money transferred virtually removes all financial risk and leakages that emerge between the first stage of physical funds getting allocated and the end receiver. Crores of poor farmers now are benefited with the consistent quarterly supply of funds through this government initiative.
