If you are a State Bank of India (SBI) client and would like to halt the payment of an SBI check, you may do it without having to go to a branch. Customers of the State Bank of India (SBI) can use easy online techniques to stop the payment of an SBI cheque that has been issued. SBI makes it simple to do it online. This may be done via SBI online.

To stop the check payment, a person will no longer need to go to the bank; instead, they may use the SBI YONO app or SBI YONO Lite app as well. The bank sends the OTP to complete the request, your cell number must be registered with them. Owing to a number of circumstances, we may be forced to cancel a check. Steps to immediately stop payment of a cheque via onlinesbi.com:
Customers who have enrolled for SBI's internet banking and mobile banking services can issue stop payment of cheque instructions without having to visit a branch. Because an OTP is issued to your registered mobile phone to complete the process, your mobile number must be registered with the bank.
- Visit the SBI Bank website
- Log in using your net banking credentials
- Enter Captcha and OTP
- On the home page, click 'Request & Enquires'
- From the menu click the 'Stop Payment' tab.
- Enter the details such as Start Cheque Number and End Cheque Number
- Select the cheque type and select the reason from the Drop-down menu.
- Tick the terms and conditions icon
- Click submit
After the request for Canceling the SBI cheque payment has been successfully filed, a notice with the reference number for the request will appear on the screen.
Steps to stop payment of cheques via the SBI Yono app:
Customers who have activated the SBI YONO mobile banking app and have their login data can use this option to cancel the SEBI Cheque payment.
- Log in to your SBI Yono app
- Click on 'Service Request' under the main menu
- Click on the 'Cheques' box from the options and click on 'Stop Cheque'.
- Select either 'Single Cheque' or Multiple Cheques' depending on requirements.
- Select account number, type of cheque, select the reason for the drop-down
- Click 'Next'
Note that the first ten check leaves are free with SBI; beyond that, a 10-leaf cheque book costs Rs 40 plus GST for a savings account, and a 25-leaf cheque book costs Rs 75 plus GST.
