A 79-year-old auto giant of Tata Group, Tata Motors has made a big announcement. The leading automobile company has launched its much-awaited premium hatchback in a sporty avatar, Altroz Racer. The launch comes ahead of Tata Motors split up into a 1:2 ratio between commercial vehicles and passenger vehicles business.
As per the statement, the performance aspect of the Altroz goes several notches higher with the introduction of the 1.2 L Turbo petrol engine. Elevated with the race car-inspired exterior and interior look coupled with a power of 120 Ps @ 5500 rpm and torque of 170 Nm @ 1750 to 4000 rpm, this sporty evolution of the Altroz promises an experience of pure exhilaration with every drive.

Under the petrol MT variant, in the ex-showroom in Delhi, racer variants are R1 priced at Rs 9,49,000, R2 priced at Rs 10,49,000, and R3 available at Rs 10,99,000.
Meanwhile, in Petrol NA MT at the ex-showroom, the XZ LUX (New) variant is available at Rs 8,99,900 apiece, while the XZ+S LUX (New) variant at Rs 9,64,990 and the XZ+OS (Upgraded) variant is available at Rs 9,98,900.

In the case of the features, Tata Motors highlighted that the Racer will be the top-of-line version of the Altroz with a 360-degree camera, 26.03 cm infotainment touchscreen, ventilated seats and 6 airbags (standard in Racer). It offers a 6-speed manual gearbox that ensures peppy drivability in city traffic and on highways.
Further, with improved technology, features and class-leading safety in a hatchback, the Altroz Racer will be available in 3 variants (R1, R2 and R3) with a choice of three colours (Pure Grey, Atomic Orange, and Avenue White). Furthermore, beefing up the Altroz lineup, Tata Motors has also introduced two new variants (XZ LUX and XZ+S LUX) and upgraded one variant (XZ+OS) in its Altroz range. These two new additional variants will be available in a choice of petrol manual, petrol DCA, diesel and CNG powertrains.
Tata Motors Split:
This comes ahead of Tata Motors' merger into two. Tata Motors board has approved the demerger of the company into two separate listed companies housing A) the Commercial Vehicles business and its related investments in one entity and B) the Passenger Vehicles businesses including PV, EV, JLR, and its related investments in another entity.
Tata Motors Dividend:
Next week, Tata Motors will turn ex-dividend for its 300-310% dividend payout on ordinary shares and DVRs for FY24. The company fixed June 11, 2024, as the "Record Date" to determine the entitlement of Members to receive the aforesaid dividend for the financial year ended March 31, 2024. The dividend will be distributed on or before June 28, 2024.
This auto giant is set to pay a final dividend of ₹6.00 per Ordinary Share of the face value of ₹2 each (i.e.,@ 300%) (comprising of ₹3.00 normal dividend and ₹3.00 special dividend) and ₹6.20 per 'A' Ordinary Share of the face value ₹2 each (i.e.,@ 310%) (comprising of ₹3.10 normal dividend and ₹3.10 special dividend) for the financial year ended March 31, 2024.
On BSE, Tata Motors' share price stood at Rs 970.40 apiece, up by 3.44% with a market cap of Rs 3,22,558.91 crore. YTD, the stock is up by 23%.
