TCS, Wipro, Sterlite Ind and Jaiprakash Asso, who among the top gainers, were at 4.49 percent, 4.24 percent, 3.49 percent, 3.05 percent up respectively.

Tata Motors, Hero Honda, Maruti Suzuki and PNB, who among the top losers, were at 3.63 percent, 1.78 percent, 1.74 percent, 1.52 percent down respectively.

Sensex struggles below 19K

At 2:19 pm, the Sensex was down 95.94 points or 0.53 percent at 18115.58, and the Nifty was down 36.55 points or 0.67 percent at 5422.40. About 913 shares advanced, 1809 shares declined, and 604 shares remain unchanged.

National Fertilisers, Gujarat Pipavav, Prestige Estate, Motherson Sumi and RCF, who among BSE Midcap top gainers, were at 3-6 percent up.

However, EIH, Nava Bharat Ventures, Jai Corp, Kingfisher Airlines and Prakash Industries, who among the BSE Midcap top losers, were at 5-16 percent down.

Sensex loses power at noon trading

At 12:32 pm, the Sensex was down 35.70 points or 0.20 percent at 18175.82, and the Nifty down 10.30 points or 0.19 percent at 5448.65.

About 975 shares have advanced, 1561 shares declined, and 790 shares are unchanged.

National Fertilisers, Rashtriya Chem, ARSS Infra, Motherson Sumi and 3M India, who among the BSE midacp top gainers, were at 4-8 percent up.

EIH, Nava Bharat Ven, Prakash Ind, Jai Corp and Kingfisher Air, who among BSE midcap top losers, were at 5-17 percent down.

Nifty begins with moderate gains

At the opening trade on Monday, Feb 21, NSE Nifty began with a moderate gains.

At 10:12 am, the Sensex was up 24.66 points or 0.14 percent at 18236.18, and the Nifty was down 2.70 points or 0.05 percent at 5456.25. About 507 shares advanced, 443 shares declined, and 2376 shares remain unchanged.

The shares of auto, realty, banks and consumer durables were under selling pressure. Buying was seen in FMCG and capital goods stocks.

BSE Midcap index was down 0.81 percent and BSE Smallcap index was down 0.4 percent.
