Markets continue trading on positive note; Sensex gains 200 points
Indian markets were witnessing positive trade followed by the uptrend in Asian markets. The news on successful reconnection of power in Japan nuclear reactors boosted investors confidence to trade more. During the afternoon trade, the benchmark Sensex gained nearly 200 points.
The bench mark Nifty has gained 56 points ann was trading above 5400 level. Reliance Industries, Bharti, SBI, ITC, HDFC, NTPC, Infosys, BHEL, DLF, Tata Motors and L&T were on buyers radar.
At 12.40 hrs, BSE Sensex was 18003.45 up 164.40 points and NSE Nifty was 5414.05 up 49.30 points.
The most active in trading were ICICI Bank, SBI, Tata Motors and Relianc.
The top gainers were Maruti Suzuki up 2.78 percent, DLF up 2.39 percent, Bharati Airtel up 2.08 percent and Jaiprakash Asso up 1.81 percent.
The top losers were BPCL down 0.46 percent, Suzlon Energy down 0.33 percent, Sun Pharma down 0.22 percent and Power Grid Corp down 0.10 percent.

Markets open on strong note; Nifty above 5400
Markets started trading on a positive note following the strong positive global cues. The ease in Japanese crisis also helped the bench mark Nifty to surge above 5400 level.
SBI, Reliance Industries, NTPC, Infosys, Bharti Airtel, L&T, BHEL, Hero Honda, Reliance Infrastructure, Reliance Power, Reliance Communications, NTPC, Bharti Airtel, SBI, Wipro and Infosys were on buyers radar.
ONGC, ITC, HUL, Ranbaxy Labs, Cairn, BPCL and HDFC Bank were witnessing selling pressure.
At 10.30 hrs, BSE Sensex was 17973.61 up 134.56 points and NSE Nifty was 5404.25 up 38.70 points.
The most active in trading were SBI, Tata Steel, Reliance and ICICI Bank.
The top gainers were Jaiprakash Asso up 1.93 percent, Maruti Suzuki up 1.65 percent, Cipla up 1.62 percent and Tata Motors up 1.53 percent.
The top losers were ICICI Bank down 0.37 percent, Jindal Steel down 0.37 percent, TCS down 0.18 percent and ONGC down 0.15 percent.
