"The talks are going on, but the strike is still continuing. The production at the plant is stopped," a company spokesperson told PTI.

On June 4, about 2,000 workers working at the plant went on strike. This has resulted in estimated loss of approximately Rs 390 crore till Saturday.

The factory worker's main demand is to recognize of a new union -- Maruti Suzuki Employees Union -- formed at the Manesar plant.

The company fired 11 workers for inciting other workers on strike.

Over the weekend the company has stated that it is willing to recognise the new union. Now the workers have added the criterion that the 11 sacked colleagues should be reinstated.

In the meantime, unions of other companies located in the near-about places will hold public meetings of factories, numbering 60-65, on Monday (June 13) to raise awareness among workers in the region.

The All-India Trade Union Congress (AITUC), leading union which supports the agitation of workers in the region will along with other unions will hold a two-hour tool-down strike tomorrow in support of the strike.

The Manesar plant produces Swift, A-Star, DZiRE and SX4. Everday the factory produces 1,200 units in two shifts.
