At 11.05 am IST, the BSE Sensex was 15956.92 up by 73.98 points or 0.47%. NSE Nifty was at 4767.45 up by 18.55 points or 0.39%.

Today, most of the Asian markets have opened weakly and on a mixed note as global cues from the European and US markets. At 10.44 A.M. Indian time, the Nikkei 225 was down by 76.23 points and was at 8428.50. The Hang Seng was up 83.07 points and was at 18,810.38.The Shanghai composite was up by 4.55 points and was at 2174.19

Among market indicators Auto was at 8,181.52 up by 79.48 points. Capital Goods was at 8,664.55 up by 113.22 points.

On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the top volume gainers were Cairn, Hero Motocop, Bajaj-Auto, PNB and Sun Pharma posted gains between 1.57%-3.31%

And the top losers in the opening trade were DLF, Gail, Ambuja Cement, ACC and Siemens were among top losers.
