On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold for April delivery was trading marginally higher by Rs 1 at Rs 28,670 per 10 grams at 2.30 pm IST and had touched an intra-day high of Rs 28,686 per 10 grams.

Similarly, the metal for June contract was up by Rs 9 at Rs 29,040 per 10 grams.

Silver for March delivery rose by Rs 44 at Rs 58,448 and touched intraday high of Rs 58,487 per kgs.

Domestic gold of 99.9 and 99.5% purity fell further by Rs 75 each to Rs 28,865 and Rs 28,725 per 10 grams, respectively.

The fall was seen due to sustained selling by stockist and a weakening trend seen globally.
