Sensex tanks 430 points on profit booking

Markets ended the day sharply lower as investors preferred to book profits amid weak global cues. Heavyweights like ITC, TCS also dragged the indices lower.

The Sensex ended the day lower by 430 points, while the Nifty fell 126 points in trade.

IT faced some selling pressure, with Wipro down 1.71%, tech Mahindra lower by 3.76%, while TCS shed 2.24%, HCL tech was lower by 1.90%

Among sectoral indices, all the sectors were in the red. FMCG, Capital Goods, Metal, Auto were leading the rally.

Among the top losers in trade from the Nifty were ITC, Reliance Infra, Bharti Airtel, Tata Steel and Tata motors.
