As part of the new service, the company will run an exclusive van with a customer service representative and customers can make renewal payment through a DD or cheque and also place service request. The acknowledgement or payment receipt shall be handed over on an instantaneous basis. Cash amount in lieu of the renewals will not be accepted. On the launch, Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance MD & CEO- Anuj Agarwal said "I am keen to take this customer-centricity to another level by augmenting our existing service network to reach out to our customers, agents wherever they are located. Service on Wheels is a small step in this direction. This initiative will allow us to address lot of issues that are being faced by the life insurance segment as such".
The mobile van will run in areas where the penetration of the company's customers as well as agents is higher. The first-of-its-kind service will serve the customers from distant suburbs who find it cumbersome to reach the office of the company.
The launch of such services in areas where a brick and mortar business unit is not feasible to establish for the company, including rural areas, will help cater to the population there and bring them under the insurance cover net. The platform is also expected to bring in premiums from customers who on a continuous basis have failed to serve their premium obligation towards the policy.
With the launch, Bajaj Allianz has become the pioneer in the industry to offer service through such a platform. The company also intends to launch the service in cities and towns of states including Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Odhisha and Rajasthan in near future.
