The Indian stock exchanges have extended its trading hours for trading in Gold ETFs on April 21, 2015 on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya.

On the special day the leading stock exchanges have decided to extend trading hours for Gold Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) till 7 PM on April 21, 2015.

"The Exchange is conducting an extended live trading session on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya for trading in Gold Exchange Traded Fund (Gold ETF) securities only ", NSE said in the filing.

After the regular market hours from 9:15 AM to 3:30 PM, trading in gold ETFs will resume at 4:30 PM on April 21 and continue till 7 PM, the exchanges added.

The extended trading would be allowed in gold ETFs of Axis, Goldman Sachs, HDFC, ICICI Pru, Kotak, Quantum, Reliance, Religare, SBI, UTI and Birla Sun Life mutual funds, reports PTI.

BSE is said to waive off transactions charges for all trades in gold ETFs on that particular day. In India, it is considered auspicious to buy valuables like gold on such occasions.
