Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today said that implementation of the GST was just a matter of time. The Finance Minister said that he was confident that GST will be approved by Parliament.

"The Congress-ruled states too have supported GST," Jaitley was quoted as saying.

However, this is one reform that has been lingering for many years now, right from the time of the UPA government.

Earlier states were not on board and many of them had not agreed to the sharing formula. Over the months a broad consensus seems to have evolved over the GST.

However, it has failed to pass the Rajya Sabha test in the monsoon session after the regular disruptions staged by the opposition parties.
