To land a lucrative job in the IT sector, you need to go for post graduation degrees and B.Tech degree shall alone not suffice to provide you a handsome IT job.
Amid job losses in the IT industry, former HR head and ex-CFO of Infosys, Mohan Das Pai said in future, mere B.Tach degree shall not provide a lucrative IT job. Post qualification and specialization shall be sought after. His advice to college goers is that they should opt for higher education and specialize in coding language as depending on these skill sets, younger workforce shall be hired.

"In future if you want to have a job, you must have M Tech, you must know coding and you must be an expert. You must have some level of expertise," he said.
As reported to the PTI, Pai is further quoted remarking "They are not going to catch you raw and give you training for six months and pay for it. Why should they waste their time? They will test you on your coding skills and if you know very good coding, they will hire you".
Further he put forth concerns regarding heightening mismatch in demand and supply of professionals in the area. "Supply (the number of software engineers) has gone up, (but commensurate) demand is not ..
there,"- said Pai.
This he reiterated as one of the reason stability in salary structure of fresher hired on the company pay-rolls. Also, the global growth rate in terms of spending in the IT industry is also marring the overall IT landscape.
Also, most IT companies have come to table to discuss not to bring about the hike in the salary of freshers and take advantage of over-supply of man power in the industry.
He further rubbished news of job losses across the sector ""All these news are exaggerated. All these fears of job losses, people going away are exaggerated. There is no crisis. It's part of normal attrition. Yes, every year the bottom 1-2 per cent (non-performers) are asked to go. "
