Maruti Suzuki India continues its leadership position in the personal vehicle segment with 7 of its models featuring in the top 10 selling list. As per the data received from Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), in July, Maruti Alto emerged as the top selling brand with sales of 26,009 cars in comparison to 19,844 cars in the same month in 2016.

Maruti Baleno was the second top most selling car model with total sales of 19,153 units as against 9,120 units in the same month last year. Another Maruti model, the compact Wagon R stood third in the list of top 10 selling personal vehicles with sales of 16,301 units. Last year, also Wagon R retained the third spot in the list with total sales of 15,207 units.

Vitara Brezza and Maruti Swift hold the fourth and fifth position respectively with sales of 15,243 and 13,738 units respectively.

Grand i10 of Hyundai held the sixth spot with sales of 12,002 units. Premium Hatchback Elite 120 of Hyundai sold 11,961 units and retained the seventh spot.

Another Maruti Suzuki India's compact sedan car Dzire ranked eight in the list and sold as many as 11,187 units. The other hatchback of MSI, Celario, ranked ninth with sales of 11,087 units. The SUV Creta of Hyundai ranked 10 with sales of 10,556 units
