As per the Bloomberg's billionaire index, Jeff Bezos, founder Chairman and CEO of Amazon.com has topped Bill Gates with a combined net worth of $106 billion as on Tuesday to become the richest person in the world. With this Bezos has surpassed all historical records of the multi billionaire Bill Gates who co-founded Microsoft Corporation 43 years back. The net worth of Bill Gates is reported at $93.3 billion.

Earlier in October 2017, owing to a sharp surge in the share price of Amazon, Jeff Bezos took over Bill Gates to be the richest person worldwide.

This time around too rise in the share price of Amazon.com by 5% on the Nasdaq in the last five trading session to $1252.7 has brought about an increase in the net worth of the company's founder. The company based on the closing price on Tuesday's trade commands a market cap of close to $604 billion.

Jeff Bezos founded the online market place in the year 1994 even before the search engine Google came into existence.
