The company is investing over USD 1 billion to set up a new manufacturing unit in India. A framework installation ceremony was held at the unit today.

"We are here to build more than just great cars. We aim to set a new standard of automotive lifestyle experience by providing Indian consumers with world-class products and service, but also deeply engaging with the Indian people and giving back to the community whenever possible, said Kia Motors Corporation President and CEO Han-Woo Park speaking on occasion.
The construction process is expected to complete by the end of the first quarter of next year, and the production of vehicles is earmarked to begin later in 2019.
