According to a report called the "Randstad Insights Salary Trends Report," released by the multinational human resource consultancy firm Randstad, the South Indian city of Bengaluru pays the highest salaries in India.
Bengaluru and Pune were among the top when it came to an average of salaries that were paid to the employees of the city at all levels for a year.
Bengaluru has been at the top position for the second year in a row.
Cities with Highest Salaries in India
In the salary trend report for 2018, the average annual CTC for employees in Bengaluru at all levels was Rs 10.8 lakh, while Pune made it to the second position with an average of Rs 10.3 lakh. This was followed by-
- NCR: Rs 9.9 lakh
- Mumbai: Rs 9.2 lakh
- Chennai: Rs 8 lakh
- Hyderabad: Rs 7.9 lakh
- Kolkata: Rs 7.2 lakh
Healthcare and Pharma are Still Promising Careers
Randstad analysed 1,00,000 jobs for the report across 20 industries and 15 functions. The study revealed that the pharma and healthcare paid the highest in India among all professional services with an average CTC of approximately Rs 10 lakhs, across all functions.
Ranstad India said that the increase in demand for specialists and professionals in the healthcare sector with R&D skills was the reason for the high pay.
Highest Paying Jobs
Specialist doctors received a salary (average annual CTC) as high as Rs 18.4 lakh. This was followed by:
- Solution Architects: Rs 15.1 lakh
- Product engineering specialists: Rs 14.8 lakh
- Blockchain technology experts: Rs 14.6 lakh
- iOS Specialists: Rs 13.9 lakh
- Artificial intelligence/ Machine learning specialists: Rs 13.7 lakh
- AWS Specialists: Rs 13.1 lakh
- Robotics Process Automation: Rs 12.9 lakh
- Core Java Professionals: Rs 12.6 lakhs
- Android Engineers: Rs 12.5 lakhs
These results are based on those who are in the role for 6-10 years when compared to other professionals with the same salary range.
