The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in its report stated that the domestic airlines in the country registered a growth of 26.05% in passengers flown during April compared to the previous year.

The Indian carriers carried around 11.5 million passengers during the month of April 2018, up by 9.1 million in April 2017.
During January-April 2018, the total number of passengers carried was reported at 453.03 lakhs as against 364.13 lakhs during the corresponding previous year of 2017, registering a growth of 24.41 percent year-on-year basis.
The passenger load factor during April 2018 has shown an increasing trend compared to the previous month of March mainly due to the beginning of tourist season. March is the month wherein exams will be conducted by various secondary schools and colleges across the country and hence we can witness less passenger load.
