After a 16-day hike in petrol and diesel rates that ended this week, prices of LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) sold for domestic purposes were raised today by the state-owned oil marketer IOC (Indian Oil Corporation Limited).

Rates of subsidized and non-subsidized LPG are revised at the beginning of every month. Prices in the metro cities for subsidized LPG (14.2 kgs) were raised by an average of Rs 2.39. Since January 2018, prices of cooking gas were on a downward slope. Reversing the trend the rates have been hiked for the first time in the year 2018.
Here are the prices of subsidized cooking gas in metro cities (14.2 kgs) effective from 1 June:

Households in India are allowed a maximum of 12 subsidized cylinders per year. Beyond this, consumers will have have to pay the full price. Rates of the full-priced cylinders were raised by an average of Rs 49 per cylinder (14.2 kgs) in metro cities of Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata.
The non-subsidized prices of LPG (14.2 kgs) in metro cities, effective from 1 June are:

Through Pradhandhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, the present government has been enrolling new customers to access cooking gas at a faster pace. As of March, 80 percent of Indian households had access to LPG connections for domestic use.
