With regard to its quarterly numbers, ITC Ltd reported a 3.85 percent increase in its standalone net profit for the third quarter of the financial year 2018-19 at Rs 3,209.07 crore from Rs 3,090.20 crore in December 2017. The FMCG giant's net sales rose by 14.9 percent to Rs 11,227.66 crore in the December-ended quarter from Rs. 9,772.02 crore in the year-ago period. Revenue from the cigarettes segment saw a 9.6 percent growth.

Other income for the quarter under review increased to Rs 836.39 crore on a year-on-year basis from Rs 642.36 crore.
EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization) margin grew by 13.92 percent at Rs 5,162.16 crore in December 2018 as against Rs 4,531.42 crore in the third quarter of the previous fiscal.
Its EPS rose to Rs. 2.62 in December 2018 from Rs. 2.54 in December 2017. Shares of ITC Ltd closed 4.75 percent or Rs 13.75 lower at Rs 276 apiece on Wednesday.
