The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) Housing Scheme for 2019 that opened on 25 March was scheduled to end on 10 May. However, in a new notification, the authority has informed of a one month extension on the scheme for those seeking to buy one of nearly 18,000 newly constructed residential flats in Delhi's Vasant Kunj and Narela areas.
Applications for the DDA Housing Scheme 2019 will now be accepted till 10 June.
Scheme details
There are a total of 17,922 flats available for purchase under the HIG, MIG, LIG and EWS categories:
- 450 HIG (high-income group) category of flats which include 2 or 3 bedroom flats
- 1,550 MIG (middle-income group) category of flats which include 2 bedroom flats
- 8,330 LIG (low-income group) category of flats which include 1 bedroom flats 7,700 EWS (economically weaker section) category
The prices of these flats also vary according to their category and location. For example, a 29.77 sq metre unit in Narela under the EWS category will cost Rs 10.4 lakh while a 3-BHK in Vasant Kunj could be priced as high as Rs 1.7 crore.

How to apply?
DDA Housing Scheme 2019 applications are only accepted online. You can apply through the websites of 13 banks that include:
- HDFC Bank
- ICICI Bank
- IDBI Bank
- Axis Bank
- State Bank of India
- Central Bank of India
- Union Bank of India
- Syndicate Bank
- Corporation Bank
- IndusInd Bank
- YES Bank
- Kotak Mahindra Bank
- IDFC FIRST Bank
During the application, you will have to pay a refundable deposit ranging from Rs 25,000 to Rs 2 lakh, depending on the type of flat you choose.
This amount will be refunded for unsuccessful applicants.
Those applying for more than one category will have to pay the highest fee of the two categories.
Selection process
- The allotments will be made through a computerized draw of all eligible applicants based on a random number technique. It will be held in the presence of independent observers and will be web-streamed.
- The whole application and communication will occur online. The DDA will communicate with the applicant over the email address and mobile number provided.
- Demand-cum-allotment letter, conveyance deed, and other such documents will also be sent via email.
- The application cannot be withdrawn once submitted.
- There is an income limit for those applying under the EWS category. However, the income proof will not be asked at the time of application.
- PMAY (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana) benefits are applicable to first-time buyers.
