Residents of the country's capital will not require to pay their electricity bills if they consume up to 200 units a month.
Delhi's Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday said the government will provide full subsidy to those consuming up to 200 units of electricity. He further said that those consuming between 201 to 401 units of power will continue to receive 50 percent subsidy.
Earlier, the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) had announced its new electricity tariff for 2019-20, wherein it reduced fixed charges by up to 84 percent.
On Wednesday, the DERC officials said all domestic category consumers can now save Rs 105 to Rs 750 per month, depending on their sanctioned load and unit consumption.

According to the new rates, fixed charges of up to 2 kilowatts (kW) have been reduced from Rs 125 to Rs 20, while charges above 2 kW but less than 5 kW have been slashed from Rs 140 to Rs 50.
Kejriwal congratulated residents of the city for having the lowest power tariffs in the country and for also being the only place with 24x7 electricity supply.
