Myanmar's Ministry of Hotels and Tourism late on Monday said that its government will extend the visa-on-arrival facility to Indian and Chinese tourists for one more year. The visa-on-arrival that was granted to Indians visiting Myanmar from 1 December 2018, will be extended for another year to 30 November 2020.

Further, Visa exemption was exemption was extended to visitors from Japan and South Korea to 30 September 2020.
In an earlier release in July, the ministry had said that it plans on granting visa-on-arrival to six more countries from 1 October, according to a Xinhua report.
The country has been looking at relaxing restrictions on foreign visitors to boost its tourism. Myanmar saw a significant increase in its tourist arrivals in the first six months of 2019 to 2.14 million from 1.72 million in the same period of 2018, after it relaxed rules for foreign visitors.
The country has a target of attracting over seven million visitors by 2020.
