Delhi's chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said that women would be exempted from following the odd-even road rationing scheme that is set to return in the national capital for the third time from 4-15 November.

"Women driving alone, cars having all women as occupants and women accompanied by children aged less than 12 years will be exempted," he said.
The decision has been taken keeping in mind their safety, Kejriwal added.
Further, previously followed exemption for privately owned CNG vehicles will not be available this time.
He also said that the decision on whether or not two-wheelers should be exempted from the rule is not yet made and will be taken after consulting experts.
The odd-even scheme forms part of the Delhi government's 7-point plan to tackle pollution in the national capital post-Diwali. The scheme is based on the last digit of a vehicle's registration number. Odd and even numbered vehicles will ply on alternate days. Emergency vehicles are not subject to the rule.
The AAP government's flagship scheme was first introduced in 2015 to combat pollution.
