Adani Wilmar Takes Action Against Counterfeit Products, Files FIR Against B2B Platform

Adani Wilmar, a leading consumer goods company known for its popular brand "Fortune," has taken strong action against the sale of counterfeit products bearing its brand name.

The company claimed in a statement that it had filed a FIR through its agency against the B2B platform for what it claimed to be the distribution of fake goods on the site. The FIR was filed at the Badalpur police station in Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Budhnagar District.

The B2B (business to business) platform's warehouse was raided by law enforcement, according to Adani Wilmar, and "alarming quantities of counterfeit goods bearing the 'Fortune' brand name, the flagship brand of Adani Wilmar, were seized."

The items confiscated included 16 pet bottles of Fortune Sarso Oil (1 litre packs), 37 bogus Fortune Refined Soybean Oil (1 litre pouches), and 126 pet bottles of Fortune Kacchi Ghani Mustard Oil (1 litre pack) without the cap. "We are deeply concerned about counterfeit products circulating in the market and posing risks to consumers' health,'' an Adani Wilmar spokesperson said.

The company is working with law enforcement to quickly identify the sources of counterfeit goods and take fast action against shady sellers, the representative said, adding that the company takes this situation seriously.

According to the statement, the company has begun a thorough investigation of the reported product which led to the discovery of substantial discrepancies in Batch Code information, phoney QR codes, and various packing materials, which confirmed the presence of counterfeit goods.
