Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has reassured farmers about the availability of di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) fertiliser. He urged them to disregard any misleading information. This statement follows accusations from Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala, who claimed that farmers were facing a shortage of DAP fertiliser and blamed the BJP-led central government for the issue.

Saini provided specific details regarding the current stock of DAP fertiliser. "Till today, a stock of 23,118 metric tonnes of DAP is available in various districts. Within the next two to three days, 9,172 metric tonnes more DAP will be received in various districts of the state," he stated. This indicates that efforts are being made to ensure a steady supply.
Fertiliser Supply and Distribution
The Chief Minister emphasised that the Haryana government has taken necessary steps to ensure fertiliser availability. He accused Congress leaders of spreading misinformation among farmers. According to Saini, there is sufficient stock of fertilisers in Haryana, and their distribution is being managed effectively.
Comparing this year's figures with last year's, Saini noted that the current DAP stock matches last year's demand. From October 1 to November 9 last year, 1,46,152 metric tonnes were used. This year, by November 9, consumption reached 1,54,540 metric tonnes.
Support for Commission Agents and Rice Millers
On another front, Saini highlighted efforts made for commission agents' welfare. The commission rate was increased from Rs 46 per quintal to Rs 55 per quintal. The state government will cover the additional Rs 9 per quintal cost.
Saini also mentioned that all issues faced by rice millers have been addressed comprehensively. A bonus of Rs 62.58 crore was distributed to rice millers by August 31 for rice delivery in the state. Additionally, concerns regarding the out-turn ratio of hybrid paddy varieties have been presented to the central government.
Paddy Procurement and Payments
Regarding paddy procurement, Saini reported that 50,46,872.45 metric tonnes have been purchased so far in Haryana. Farmers have received payments exceeding Rs 11,296 crore for their crops.
The Chief Minister's statements aim to reassure stakeholders about the state's commitment to addressing agricultural challenges and ensuring adequate support for farmers and related sectors.
