Advik, a global automotive components manufacturer, announced its acquisition of Powersports MTG, a German mechanical and hydraulic braking system maker. The financial details of the deal remain undisclosed. This acquisition is expected to enhance Advik's expertise in premium motorcycle safety components, benefiting both internal combustion engine and electric-powered motorcycles and scooters.

The acquisition aligns with Advik's growth strategy by adding advanced brake system capabilities. It will also help the company establish a presence in Europe, allowing it to expand and serve customers more effectively. Advik aims to broaden its product range and customer base while focusing on developing next-generation braking solutions.
Expansion into European Market
Advik's acquisition of Powersports MTG includes advanced technology for hydraulic braking and clutch systems. This move will enhance manufacturing and research capabilities in Germany. Powersports MTG was originally a spin-off from Gustav Magenwirth GmbH & Co KG, known as MAGURA, focusing on brake and clutch systems for two-wheelers.
Aditya Bhartia, Managing Director at Advik Group, stated that the acquisition is strategic for gaining access to hydraulic braking and clutch technology. "With 60 plus patents, this acquisition is very strategic to Advik to get access to hydraulic braking and clutch technology," he said.
Strategic Vision for Global Leadership
Powersports MTG serves leading two-wheeler OEMs in Europe and the USA. This acquisition will help Advik establish a strong foothold in Europe, facilitating expansion and customer service. Bhartia emphasized that this step aligns with their vision of becoming a leading global supplier of two-wheeler braking systems.
The acquisition was executed through Advik's Singapore subsidiary, ADVIK Singapore Pte Ltd. Powersports MTG concluded 2024 with robust revenue nearing 30 million euros. This financial strength underscores the potential benefits of the acquisition for Advik's strategic goals.
By integrating Powersports MTG's technology and expertise, Advik aims to enhance its position in the global market for motorcycle and scooter braking systems. The move is expected to significantly boost their product offerings and market reach.
