Advik, a global automotive components manufacturer, has acquired Powersports MTG, a German company specialising in mechanical and hydraulic braking systems. The financial details of the acquisition remain undisclosed. This strategic move enhances Advik's expertise in premium motorcycle safety components, benefiting both internal combustion engine and electric-powered motorcycles and scooters.

The acquisition positions Advik among advanced brake system suppliers, aligning with its growth plans. It also strengthens the company's presence in Europe, allowing it to better serve customers locally. This expansion is part of Advik's goal to develop next-generation braking solutions and broaden its product range and customer base.
Expansion into Europe
Advik aims to establish a strong foothold in Europe through this acquisition. By doing so, the company can expand its reach and provide services directly to its European customers. This move is seen as a step towards becoming a leading supplier of braking systems for two-wheelers globally.
Powersports MTG GmbH originated as a spin-off from Gustav Magenwirth GmbH & Co KG, known as MAGURA. The company focuses on developing, producing, and marketing brake and clutch systems for two-wheelers. Powersports serves major two-wheeler OEMs in Europe and the USA.
Technological Advancements
The acquisition brings advanced technology for hydraulic braking and clutch systems to a wider audience. It also adds manufacturing and research capabilities in Germany. Aditya Bhartia, Managing Director at Advik Group, highlighted the strategic importance of gaining access to hydraulic braking and clutch technology.
With over 60 patents, this acquisition is crucial for Advik's technological advancement. Bhartia stated, "This is a step forward to realise our vision of being a leading braking system supplier in the world for two-wheelers motorcycle and scooter."
Financial Performance
The acquisition was executed through Advik's Singapore subsidiary, ADVIK Singapore Pte Ltd. Powersports ended 2024 with strong revenue approaching 30 million euros. This financial strength underscores the potential benefits of the acquisition for Advik's growth strategy.
This development marks a significant milestone for Advik as it seeks to expand its two-wheeler braking system portfolio worldwide. The integration of Powersports' technology and expertise will likely play a pivotal role in achieving this goal.
