An Aeroflot flight from Bangkok to Moscow, carrying over 400 passengers, had to make an emergency landing at Delhi airport on Tuesday. The Russian airline reported that the captain of flight SU273 decided to land unscheduled in Delhi due to a brief smell of melted plastic. The landing followed standard procedures, and no smoke was detected in the cabin, according to Aeroflot's Press Office.

The Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft landed at approximately 3.50 pm, as confirmed by a source. Flight tracking website Flightradar24.com provided details about the aircraft model. Following the landing, the departure from Delhi to Moscow faced delays due to a technical inspection by local maintenance experts and crew duty time constraints.
Technical Inspection and Passenger Arrangements
Aeroflot stated that discussions with Indian immigration authorities are ongoing regarding border crossing clearance and hotel accommodation for passengers. The airline's representative office is actively working to provide refreshments and meals for those affected by the delay. An updated statement was released around 1950 hours IST to address these arrangements.
The decision for the emergency landing was made in line with flight safety regulations. Aeroflot emphasised that the situation was handled according to standard procedures, ensuring passenger safety remained a priority throughout the incident.
As the technical inspection continues, passengers are being kept informed about their travel plans. The airline is coordinating with local authorities to ensure a smooth transition once clearance is obtained for further travel arrangements.
The incident highlights the importance of adhering to safety protocols in aviation. Aeroflot's prompt response and coordination with local authorities demonstrate their commitment to passenger safety and comfort during unexpected situations.
