Air India did not arrange accommodation for some cabin crew members, causing them to wait for hours after landing in Hyderabad on Wednesday night. The airline has acknowledged the lapse and promised to take appropriate action.

Accommodation Issues Faced by Crew
Sources revealed that the crew members searched for a hotel throughout the night. Eventually, they found accommodation at the airline's flying training facility, CTE, early Thursday morning. However, the rooms lacked basic amenities and were in poor condition.
"The room was in a pathetic condition," one source mentioned. The crew discovered that no bookings had been made by the airline when they arrived at the intended hotel.
Air India's Response
An Air India spokesperson admitted to the lapse, stating, "At Air India, the well-being of our staff is important to us and we offer comfortable stay in globally known hotels for their layovers. This is a lapse and we will take appropriate action."
The sources also noted that the CTE accommodation is designated only for staff undergoing training. It is not intended for cockpit or cabin crew members who are on duty.
Standard Procedure for Crew Layovers
Typically, airlines book hotel rooms in advance for cockpit and cabin crew members at the city where their flight lands at night. This ensures they have a place to rest after their duties.
The incident highlights a significant oversight in Air India's accommodation arrangements for its crew members. The airline's commitment to addressing this issue will be closely watched by both staff and passengers.
