The induction process, which began in June of last year, drew a broad pool of candidates through collaborative walk-in recruitment drives held in major metro cities and small towns, according to a release issued by Air India Express on Thursday.

Tata Group purchased Air India, Air India Express, and a 50% share in ground handling firm Air India SATS Airport Services Pvt Ltd (AISATS) last year. The Group presently fully owns three airlines: Air India, Air India Express, and AirAsia India, and also controls 51% of Vistara, a joint venture airline with Singapore Airlines that is also being integrated into Air India.

The ongoing process of merging AirAsia India with Air India Express has reached a significant milestone with the large-scale recruitment, according to a release. After undergoing a selection process, a considerable number of trainees have participated in comprehensive training at Air India Express' Mumbai facility.

This training leverages the combined expertise of both airlines, ensuring a robust and well-prepared workforce for the merged entity.
