The merger of Air India and Vistara is set to commence with its inaugural flight from Doha to Mumbai at 12.15 am on Tuesday, as per a source. This marks the beginning of operations under the integrated entity. The merger will be finalised on Monday night, leading to a change in Vistara's flight code from UK to AI2XXX starting Tuesday.

On the international front, the first flight under the new entity will be AI2286, departing from Doha to Mumbai at 12.15 am on Tuesday. Domestically, the initial flight will be AI2984, scheduled to leave Mumbai for Delhi at 1.20 am. Both flights were originally Vistara services but will now operate under Air India following the merger.
Merger Details and Final Vistara Flight
The last scheduled flight for Vistara is UK115, which will travel from Delhi to Singapore, departing at 11.45 pm on Monday. This flight signifies the end of Vistara's independent operations before it fully integrates with Air India.
Both airlines are part of the Tata Group, with Vistara being a joint venture between Tata and Singapore Airlines. Throughout the day, Vistara pilots informed passengers about the merger during flights, assuring them that they would continue to enjoy the same experience on Air India aircraft.
Industry Reactions and Farewell Messages
IndiGo, India's largest airline, shared a farewell message for Vistara on X (formerly Twitter). They posted a video showing a Vistara aircraft preparing for take-off, accompanied by a heartfelt message: "As an unforgettable legacy takes its final flight, a new journey on the horizon awaits. Goodbye, @airvistara. Here's #ToLimitlessPossibilities ahead. #goIndiGo."
This merger represents a significant shift in India's aviation landscape, combining two major players under one brand. Passengers can expect continuity in service quality as Vistara's legacy merges into Air India's operations.
