Amazon has introduced its 10-minute delivery service, Amazon Now, to select areas in Delhi after its initial launch in Bengaluru. The company expressed enthusiasm about the positive feedback from customers. This move highlights Amazon's commitment to the rapidly growing quick-commerce sector in India, where competitors like Zepto and Blinkit have already achieved significant success.

Amazon Now provides a carefully chosen range of daily essentials delivered swiftly to meet immediate customer demands. An Amazon spokesperson stated: "Amazon has always focussed on offering customers a wide selection with convenient and fast delivery. We are running our 10-min delivery service, Amazon Now, in select pin codes in Bengaluru and Delhi, and are excited with the initial customer response and positive feedback, especially from Prime members."
Amazon's Expansion Plans
The company plans to expand this service further over the coming months. The spokesperson added that Amazon Now maintains the company's standards for safety, quality, and reliability while addressing urgent customer needs. This service was first launched in Bengaluru in December 2024 and later introduced in Delhi in June.
The quick-commerce market in India is experiencing rapid growth. According to recent estimates, Indians spent Rs 64,000 crore on platforms like Blinkit and Instamart during the Financial Year 2024-25. This figure more than doubled from Rs 30,000 crore in the previous fiscal year.
Market Growth Projections
A report by Careedge Ratings predicts that the gross order value (GOV) will more than triple to reach Rs 2 lakh crore by FY28. Another report by Datum Intelligence forecasts that the quick-commerce market size will grow from USD 6.1 billion in 2024 to USD 40 billion by 2030.
Amazon's entry into this market with its rapid delivery service reflects its strategic efforts to capture a share of this expanding sector. The company's focus on providing fast and reliable service aligns with the increasing demand for quick-commerce solutions among Indian consumers.
