In the southern metropolis of Bengaluru, widely regarded as the country's IT capital, banks will observe holidays on January 15 for Makara Sankranti and Uttarayana Punyakala, and on January 26 for Republic Day.

Agartala, the capital of Tripura, will mark Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Jayanti on January 23 and Republic Day on January 26.
In Gangtok, Sikkim's picturesque capital, banks will observe January 1, January 15 for Makar Sankranti and January 26.
Shillong, Meghalaya's capital, along with Imphal (Manipur) and Kohima (Nagaland), will see bank closures on January 1 and January 26.
Itanagar, the capital of Arunachal Pradesh, will remain closed on January 1, January 14 for Makar Sankranti, and January 26.
In southern cities of Kerala, Kochi, the commercial hub, and Thiruvananthapuram, the state capital, will remain closed on January 2 for Mannam Jayanthi and January 26 for Republic Day.
