Bank Holiday 2025: The month of August brings with it the festival season, as a lot of festivals, including Raksha Bandhan, Janmashtami, Independence Day & more, are being celebrated. Bank customers across India should prepare for multiple public holidays in advance that could impact their financial transactions. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the official list of bank holidays in August.
This week, between August 11 and August 17, 2025, several bank holidays are scheduled across different states, in addition to the standard weekend days off on Saturdays and Sundays.

While some bank holidays are mandatory nationwide, others are state-specific depending on cultural significance.

- ATM withdrawals for cash needs.
- Internet banking and mobile banking for fund transfers and bill payments.
- UPI services for instant transactions.
However, certain services under the Negotiable Instruments Act, such as cheque clearing, will not be available on these bank holidays. If you need in-person banking services, it's best to plan ahead and check with your local branch about their holiday schedule.
