Bank Holidays Next Week: Amid the ongoing festive season banks are set to remain shut for multiple days this week, from October 6 to 11. There will be bank holidays on the occasion of Lakshmi Puja, Karva Chauth, Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti, etc in different regions.
For those who are planning to visit bank for their financial tasks in the coming week must be aware about the bank holidays in their region. This would help them to plan their bank visits in advance and complete mandatory tasks before hand with the help of online banking, net banking, etc.

Bank Holidays This Week
As per the RBI Holiday calendar, bank holidays are marked under Negotiable Instruments Act, ie these holidays can vary from region to region. Here is the full list of bank holidays for the coming week, between October 6 and October 11.
Bank Holiday On October 6
Banks will remain closed next week on the occasion of Lakshmi Puja in Agartala and Kolkata regions. Other than these two regions, banks will remain open acros the country. In eastern India, the festival of Lakshmi Puja, also called Kojagara Puja or Kojagari Purnima, is celebrated on October 6, 2025. This full moon night is dedicated to honouring Goddess Lakshmi, who symbolises wealth and prosperity The celebration involves various rituals and traditions that are deeply rooted in the culture of the region.
Bank Holiday On October 7
All banks will remain shut on the occasion of Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti, or Kumar Purnima, on Tuesday, October 7 in Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, and Shimla regions. Two significant celebrations will coincide on October 7, ie, Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti and Kumar Purnima. Both events occur on the full moon day, known as Purnima, in the Hindu lunar month of Ashwin. Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti marks the birth anniversary of the revered sage Maharishi Valmiki, who authored the epic Ramayana.
Bank Holiday On October 10
Banks will remain shut on the occasion of Karva Chauth in Shimla region on Friday, October 10. Apart from the selected regions, banks will operate as usual in the rest of India.
Bank Holiday On October 11
All scheduled and non-scheduled banks across the country will remain closed on the coming Saturday, October 11. According to the RBI holiday calendar, banks will remain closed on every second and fourth Saturday of the month.
Banks remained shut in the first week of October on several festive occasions, including Durga Puja, Dussehra, and Gandhi Jayanti. AS per the RBI calendar, there will be nearly 21 bank holidays in October, including those marked under the Negotiable Instruments Act.
