The Indian Railways is set to launch the Belagavi-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express on Sunday, August 10, 2025. The much-anticipated train will be flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to the state where he will also be launching the Bengaluru Yellow Line Metro.
The new semi-high-speed train fulfils a long-pending demand from the people of northern Karnataka, who have been asking faster and more comfortable travel options to the state capital. The announcement was made by Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, who also revealed that the Prime Minister will inaugurate two more Vande Bharat trains on the same day, one between Ajni (Nagpur) and Pune, and another between Amritsar and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra.

Belagavi-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express: Timings and Daily Schedule
The Belagavi to Bengaluru Vande Bharat train timings have been officially released. The train will operate daily for passengers across multiple regions in Karnataka.
The train will depart from Belagavi at 5:20 AM and is scheduled to arrive in Bengaluru at 1:50 PM.
On the return leg, it will depart from Bengaluru at 2:20 PM and reach Belagavi at 10:40 PM, allowing same-day return for many passengers. The total journey duration is approximately 8 hours and 30 minutes, much faster than many existing options on this route.
Route and Major Stops
The Belagavi-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express route will connect several important cities across Karnataka, providing a much-needed boost to regional transportation. The train will stop at Tumakuru, Davanagere, Haveri, Hubballi, Dharwad, and finally, Belagavi.

Political and Public Support for the Train
The launch of the Belagavi to Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express is the result of sustained efforts by local leaders and public demand. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi and Belagavi MP Jagadish Shettar played a major role in pushing the proposal forward. On X handler Joshi thanked Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Minister of State for Railways V. Somanna, welcoming this initiative.
