Bharti Airtel Services, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bharti Airtel, has acquired a 97.1% stake in Beetel Teletech, another Bharti Group company, for Rs 669 crore. The acquisition is part of Airtels strategy to enable indigenisation initiatives and add distribution and service capabilities.
In a significant move towards indigenisation and bolstering its telecom product ecosystem, Bharti Airtel Services, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bharti Airtel, has entered into an agreement to acquire a 97.1 per cent stake in Beetel Teletech, another Bharti Group company. This strategic acquisition, valued at Rs 669 crore, aligns with the Government of India's 'Make in India' policy and aims to enhance distribution and service capabilities, particularly for enterprise businesses.

Acquisition Details
Bharti Airtel Services Limited, as part of a group restructuring, has signed an agreement to acquire 49,45,239 equity shares, representing a 97.1 per cent stake in Beetel Teletech Limited. This cash transaction will result in Beetel becoming a subsidiary of Bharti Airtel Services Limited.
Strategic Rationale
The acquisition of Beetel Teletech is driven by Bharti Airtel's vision to promote indigenisation within its telecom product ecosystem. By leveraging Beetel's technical capabilities, global OEM relationships, and extensive distribution network, Bharti Airtel aims to strengthen its position in the enterprise business segment. Additionally, Beetel's stake in a Joint Venture with two manufacturing facilities producing telecom and networking products, including those eligible for the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme, further enhances Bharti Airtel's manufacturing capabilities.
About Beetel Teletech
Established in 1999, Beetel Teletech has a proven track record of designing and delivering technical solutions and services. With strong in-house technical expertise, partnerships with global OEMs, and a vast network of channel partners, distributors, and retailers, Beetel distributes a wide range of products, including IT peripherals, network and enterprise solutions, fixed landlines, and mobile accessories. The company holds distribution rights for leading brands such as Avaya, HP/Poly, Samsung, Siemens, QSC, RADWIN, Ruckus, RAD, ADVA, and Actelis.
Bharti Airtel's acquisition of a majority stake in Beetel Teletech marks a significant step towards achieving its indigenisation goals and expanding its product offerings. This strategic move aligns with the Government's 'Make in India' initiative and positions Bharti Airtel to capture growth opportunities in the enterprise business segment. With Beetel's expertise and manufacturing capabilities, Bharti Airtel is well-poised to drive innovation and strengthen its position in the Indian telecom industry.
